GoHighLevel IVR to Filter Spam Calls: Plus a Cleanup of Redundant Pipelines
By Alex Regueiro · October 25, 2026 · 5 min read
Spam calls were hitting one location hard and three or four others besides, and the CRM held five overlapping pipelines that made it easy to lose a real lead. Both problems cost the team attention that belonged to prospects and tenants.

This post covers the two fixes we lined up in GoHighLevel and the content structure that went with them. The client is the owner of a multi-market salon suite rental business, with a leasing manager and local partners. If you run home service businesses with a busy phone line, the same ideas apply.
The situation
The business runs its calls and its pipelines inside GoHighLevel. By the time of this call, two kinds of clutter had piled up. One was the phone. The other was the pipeline list itself.
We also had a content problem on the same agenda: the owner and the manager were unsure what to post, and several locations had stale or missing tenant content.
What was broken
The call surfaced five separate issues.
- Spam calls. They were severely affecting one location and three to four others.
- Redundant pipelines. GoHighLevel held separate pipelines for sales, leasing, tenant, active and updated. Overlap like that creates confusion and the risk that a lead is lost between them.
- No structure for content. The owner and the manager were unsure what to post.
- Stale content. Several locations had stale or missing tenant content.
- Ad copy errors. Some ad creatives had mistakes in the copy.
What we built
Each issue got a specific fix.
- An IVR in GoHighLevel to filter spam calls. An IVR is an automated menu a caller hears first. The goal is that real callers move through it and spam does not reach the team.
- A consolidated pipeline setup. The redundant pipelines are removed so the team works from one clear view.
- Corrected ad creatives. New ad creatives, generated with AI, with corrected copy were swapped in.
- A top winning creatives folder. Analytics had shown that Reels dominate top performance, so the best ones are collected in one place.
- A structured weekly content calendar with themed posting days, so the owner and manager know what goes up each day.
- Per-location content assignments. Each location got specific direction, including tenant footage, a founder introduction and starter video assignments.
What changed
One result was stated: analytics showed that Reels dominate top performance, which is why the folder of winning creatives is built around them. No outcome was reported for the other fixes, so there is no count of blocked spam calls or a before-and-after for lead handling.
The change is in the setup. Callers meet a filter before they reach a person, the pipelines collapse into a view with no overlap, and content follows a weekly rhythm instead of whatever someone remembers to post.
Check your own phone line and pipelines
This section is advice, not a fact about the client. For a week, tally the calls you get and mark which ones were real. If the share of spam is high, a menu in front of the line is worth testing, but call it yourself first to make sure real customers get through easily.
Then open your CRM and list every pipeline. If two of them describe the same stage of the same customer, merge them. One pipeline you trust is worth more than three you half check.
Frequently asked questions
What is an IVR and how does it help with spam calls?
An IVR is an automated menu that answers a call before a person does. Callers who respond like real customers are routed on, and robocalls tend to drop off. The fix here was to set one up inside GoHighLevel for the affected locations.
Why delete redundant pipelines in GoHighLevel?
When several pipelines overlap, a lead can be sitting in the wrong one or in two at once, and nobody notices. Consolidating down to one clear setup lowers the chance that a prospect is lost between them.
How do you find out which content performs best?
Look at the platform's analytics across locations and sort by results. Here, the analytics showed that Reels dominate top performance, so the team built a folder of winning creatives to reuse and to guide what each location films next.
Why build a content calendar with themed posting days?
A weekly calendar removes the daily question of what to post. Each day has a theme, so the owner and manager know what goes up and can film ahead. Here the calendar was paired with per-location assignments for tenant footage and a founder introduction.
