Meta Ads for Webinar Registrations: One Week, Campaign Budget Optimization, Three Videos
By Alex Regueiro · October 25, 2026 · 5 min read
A webinar ad campaign is hard to judge if you do not know how many people had already registered. A short-term-rental owner planned a webinar and needed registrations from Meta ads, with no baseline count in GoHighLevel to measure the campaign against.

We set up the campaign and captured the baseline before spending anything. The structure below fits real estate agents and investors who run webinars to fill a pipeline.
The situation
The owner was running a webinar and wanted ads to drive sign-ups to a registration form inside GoHighLevel. The webinar had a fixed start time, which set a hard deadline for the ads, and the ads needed to run for a full week before it. Registrations were already coming in, which created the second problem: we needed to know how many people had signed up before the campaign, or we could not say what the ads added.
What was missing
Two things. The first was a baseline. Without a count of existing registrations, any number we reported after launch would blend ad sign-ups with people who found the webinar some other way. The second was approved creative: the final videos needed corrections and the owner's review before the campaign could go live.
What we built
The campaign was finalized on a call, with the following setup.
- A campaign that runs for seven days, scheduled to go live seven days before the webinar start, so the ads finish as the event begins.
- Campaign budget optimization, which sets one budget at the campaign level and lets Meta shift spend toward the creative that is performing.
- Three video creatives, all pointing to the same GoHighLevel registration form.
- A baseline captured before launch by screenshotting the current registrations in GoHighLevel, so there was a starting point to compare against.
- Corrected final videos to go to the owner for review before launch.
What changed
The campaign had not launched when the call ended, so there is no registration result to report. What changed is that the campaign now has a defined start, a defined end, a single entry point and a number to beat. When registrations are counted after the webinar, the difference from the baseline is the best available view of what the ads added.
The next steps were clear and short: the owner reviews the corrected videos, the campaign goes live on schedule, and the registration count is compared with the baseline once the webinar is over.
Lock a baseline before you spend
This section is advice. Export or screenshot your registrations, with the date, before the ads start. Send all ad traffic to one registration form, so every sign-up from the campaign is counted in one place. Add a way to tell ad sign-ups from other sources, such as a source tag on the form. And check your ad account billing a few days before launch, not on launch day, because a campaign cannot run without a payment method on file.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a webinar ad campaign run?
In this build it ran for seven days and finished as the webinar began. There is no rule that fits every audience, but a full week gives the campaign time to find people and gives you a clean window to compare against your baseline.
What is campaign budget optimization?
It means you set one budget for the whole campaign instead of one for each ad set, and Meta distributes it toward the ads getting better results. With three video creatives in the campaign, it lets the stronger video receive more of the spend.
Why send webinar ads to a GoHighLevel form?
A registration form inside GoHighLevel puts each registrant straight into the system that runs reminders and follow-up. It also gives you one place to count sign-ups, which makes the baseline comparison simple.
How do I measure how many registrations the ads produced?
Capture your registration count before launch, send all ad traffic to one form, and compare the totals afterward. If you also tag the source on the form, you can separate ad sign-ups from people who found the webinar elsewhere.
