Meta Business Verification for Remodelers: Avoid Ad Account Pauses and Publish the Ads
By Alex Regueiro · October 25, 2026 · 5 min read
A remodeler's project ad could not be published, and the reason had nothing to do with the photos or the copy. Meta was pausing business accounts that had not been verified, and a messaging-app requirement was blocking the carousel from going live.

This is about the owner of a kitchen and bath remodeling company, and it applies to any of the home service businesses that run Meta ads on an account nobody has looked at in a while. Here is what we did to get the ads running again.
The situation
We reviewed the remodeler's ads with the owner on a Zoom call. The timing mattered. Meta had recently paused about 10 client accounts across our book of business, and unverified business accounts were the ones being paused.
The remodeler's account needed verification too. On top of that, a project carousel ad would not publish because of a messaging-app requirement attached to the setup.
What was broken
Two problems, one account.
- Verification: an unverified Meta business account can be paused, which stops every ad in it at once.
- Publishing: the project carousel could not go live because of a messaging-app requirement, so good creative sat waiting.
What we did
We cleared the account-level risk first and then pushed the creative through.
- We completed Meta verification for the business.
- We cleaned up the ad placements.
- We published two new project carousel ads with refined copy.
- We sent over the remaining project ad assets and copy, so the company could replicate the format in-house.
- We lined up an on-site video shoot and an office session. The office session covers a GoHighLevel integration for instant lead follow-up and a filmed acknowledgment video to go out with automated SMS replies.
What changed
No performance numbers were reported on this call. The account was verified and two project carousels were published, which were the two things that were stuck.
The shoot and the office session were set as next steps, not completed work. The plan for the acknowledgment video is that a lead who has just filled in a form gets a text with a short filmed video right away.
What to take from this
This is advice for you, not a description of the client.
- Check your Meta business account for verification now, before a pause forces the question. A pause stops every ad in the account at once, and fixing it under pressure is slower than doing it on a quiet day.
- Look at your ad setup for requirements tied to messaging features before you build creative around them. A requirement you find after the creative is done can hold up the whole launch.
- Keep the source photos and copy for every ad in one folder, so any ad can be rebuilt or copied quickly.
- Only send automated texts to people who have asked to hear from you, such as someone who has just submitted your form.
- Keep a record of who owns each business asset, so the person who can approve a verification request is easy to find.
Frequently asked questions
Why would Meta pause an unverified business account?
We cannot speak for Meta's reasons. What we saw is that about 10 of our client accounts were paused recently and that unverified business accounts were the ones being paused. Completing verification before a pause happens is the safer order, because a pause stops all ads at once.
What does completing Meta verification involve?
You confirm your business details with Meta inside your business account settings. We completed it for this remodeler. Have your business information ready and make sure the person who owns the account can approve the request.
What is a project carousel ad for a remodeler?
It is an ad that shows several photos of one finished project, one after another, with a short piece of copy. These two were built from the company's own project photos. Make sure you have the right to show the work and the homeowner's agreement where needed.
What is an acknowledgment video for automated text replies?
It is a short filmed message sent with the automatic text a lead receives after submitting a form. It tells them a real person has seen the request. This was a planned next step on this project, so we have no results from it yet.
