Meta Carousel Ads for Real Estate Listings: From No Ad Account to a Live First Campaign
By Alex Regueiro · October 25, 2026 · 4 min read
A real estate team with no ad account and no paid listing campaign has nothing to learn from yet, and every week of waiting is a week without data. Working with a team lead in Northeast Ohio, we fixed both.

This is the short version of how a team goes from nothing to a live lead-gen campaign for one listing. It is written for real estate agents and teams who keep meaning to start paid ads and have not.
The situation
The team had no Meta Ads Manager account and no paid campaign for its listings. That is a common starting point, and it tends to last because the first step feels bigger than it is: an account, a campaign, an audience, creative and a lead form all have to exist before anything runs.
What was missing
Two things, in order. First, the ad account itself. Without it, nothing else can be started. Second, a campaign built for a single listing, with a lead form attached, so that interest in the property turns into a contact the team can call.
What we built
We did the work rather than leaving it as a list of tasks.
- Set up the Meta Ads Manager account for the team.
- Built a lead-generation carousel campaign for one listing and launched it.
- Created a Slack channel for sharing analytics and coordinating, so results reach the team where it already talks.
- Queued the next campaign, to be built from a second agent's listing assets.
What changed
The campaign had only just launched, so there are no lead counts or costs to report.
The change is the starting line. The team went from no account and no campaign to a live listing ad and a repeatable intake: a set of listing assets from the agent is what the next campaign starts from.
Before you launch your first listing ad
Treat this part as a general checklist for your own first campaign.
A carousel suits a listing because it lets you show several images in one ad. Decide in advance which image leads, since the first card is what a viewer sees before deciding whether to swipe.
Then check the plumbing. Confirm the ad account is set up and the lead form works, submit a test lead, and decide who will see it first. An ad that generates a lead nobody answers is worse than no ad.
Keep the first campaign narrow. One listing, one form and one owner for the response make it easy to see what worked. Write the steps down as you go, so the next listing starts from a checklist and not from memory, and the second campaign can start from what you already know.
- Have the listing link and the best photos or video ready before you start.
- Decide who answers the first lead and how fast.
- Pick one place, such as a shared channel, where results will be posted.
Frequently asked questions
What do you need to launch a Meta carousel ad for a listing?
An ad account, a business page to run the ads from, and the listing photos or video. In this case, once the account was set up, a second agent's listing assets were what the next campaign was queued from.
Why use a carousel for a real estate listing?
A carousel shows several cards in one ad, so a viewer can swipe through images of the property. Our approach was a lead-generation carousel for a single listing, with the lead form capturing anyone who wanted to know more.
How do you share ad results with a real estate team?
We created a Slack channel for sharing analytics and coordinating, so results appear where the team already talks. That is better than a report that gets sent once and not opened again.
Should the first campaign cover one listing or several?
This team started with one listing and queued a second campaign from another agent's listing assets. Keeping each campaign on a single property ties its results to that property, and it lets the first launch teach you something before the second one starts.
